Description	:	OBIT: Maxine Ruth (Olson) Taylor, 86, died March 6, 2006 at her home in Hearthstone Cottage in Ellensburg. She was born August 12, 1919 to Oscar and Ilene Olson at their home on a farm outside of Lodgepole, Nebraska. She graduated from high school when she was 16 and worked for a year before she was old enough to enter Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. Read More	OBIT: Maxine Ruth (Olson) Taylor, 86, died March 6, 2006 at her home in Hearthstone Cottage in Ellensburg. She was born August 12, 1919 to Oscar and Ilene Olson at their home on a farm outside of Lodgepole, Nebraska. She graduated from high school when she was 16 and worked for a year before she was old enough to enter Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated and worked for a time in Omaha doing public health nursing. She joined the Army Nurse Corps at the beginning of World War II. While stationed at O'Reilly Hospital in Missouri she met and married an Army soldier, Robert Taylor, from Ellensburg. They were sent to Europe where Maxine worked as a field hospital surgical nurse in France, Austria, and Germany until the war was over. They returned to Washington where Maxine worked at Central Washington University as an administrator, nurse, instructor, and advisor. She finished her nursing career at the Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Maxine was a member of First Lutheran Church for many years. She and Bob loved spending time at Taylor's Palace at Lake Cle Elum and enjoyed the company of lifelong special friends of the sewing circle. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband on November 6, 1988. She is survived by her children, Rusty Taylor Yuma, Arizona, Kathie Painter of Salem, Oregon, and Roger (Bill) Taylor of Everett; six grandchildren; brother, Russel Olson; and extended family members in Nebraska. She will be interred at OF Cemetery. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date. Ellensburg Daily Record, March 14, 2006
