Gibson, one of Crisfield's best known and most highly respected ladies, died at her home on Somerset Avenue Monday afternoon, after being ill for several months suffering from a complication of diseases. She was 71 years of age. Gibson, one of Crisfield's best known and most highly respected ladies, died at her home on Somerset Avenue Monday afternoon, after being ill for several months suffering from a complication of diseases. She was 71 years of age. The deceased, a former resident of Canada, had been a resident of this city for many years and was prominently identified with the social, business and religious interests of Crisfield. For many years she conducted a high class ladies store on Main Street, at the present location of the Sterling Hotel, and was a prominent figure in religious circles of the city. Of a kind and loving disposition; a model wife and mother; a true friend to all; it can be truly said that Mrs. Gibson was loved and revered by all who knew her, not only in Crisfield but throughout Somerset county and her passing is mourned by a large concourse of friends in lower Somerset county. She is survived by her husband, O. P. Gibson; two daughters, Mrs. C. F. Buse, and Mrs. J. Millard Tawes, of Crisfield, and a son, Charles Gibson, of New York city. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Frank Robinson, of Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. De Wardo Babcock, of Canada. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, by the Rev. J. J. Bunting, assisted by the Rev. William L. Hoffman. Burial was in Crisfield Cemetery. The Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a consistent member, attended the funeral in a body and conducted the services at the grave.
