Description	:	Mazel Cora Audet died peacefully on August 2, 2020 in Billings, Montana at the age of 94. Mazel was born October 20, 1925 in Scobey, Montana to parents Norman and Laura Scharf. Mazel’s father, Norman died prior to Mazel’s birth and her mother later remarried Charles Harris. Mazel then took the last name of Harris. Read More	Mazel Cora Audet died peacefully on August 2, 2020 in Billings, Montana at the age of 94. Mazel was born October 20, 1925 in Scobey, Montana to parents Norman and Laura Scharf. Mazel’s father, Norman died prior to Mazel’s birth and her mother later remarried Charles Harris. Mazel then took the last name of Harris. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Norman “Bud” Scharf and sister, Mildred Threlkeld. Upon graduating from Scobey High School in 1944, Mazel moved to Great Falls, Montana where she attended beauty school. She then returned to Scobey and later married Art Audet on August 21, 1948. They were blessed with five children, Philip, Craig, Dana, Allan and Laura. Mazel worked as a hairdresser out of her home for her entire career. During those years, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed having family gatherings and hosting card parties with family and friends. She was an avid reader, bridge player and a dedicated volunteer giving countless hours to St. Philip Bonitus Church where she was an active member of the Little Flower Group for many years. Mazel enjoyed crocheting afghans and embroidering dish towels. In later years, she enjoyed making quilts with her friends at St. Philip’s. Her door was always open for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with the neighbors, whom she adored. Mazel lived her life fully with vitality and enthusiasm, always giving selflessly. With her easy smile and effervescent personality, Mazel made friends wherever she went, always living up to her nickname from high school of “Gabby”. She is truly a testament to a life well lived. Mazel and Art lived in the same home in Scobey until late 2014 when they moved to Billings where they lived in assisted living at Highgate Senior Living. Mazel was preceded in death by her husband Art. She is survived by her children Philip Audet, Craig (Jane) Audet, Dana (Kelly) Audet, Allan (Simmy) Audet, Laura (Bert) Reyes; her grandchildren Maury (Tatiana) Audet, Arlee (Tracy) Vatnsdal, Matt (Kendra) Orrantia, Marrin (Jerel) Hafner, Scott (Lindsay) Audet, Aaron (Heather) Audet, Ashley (Jonathan) Holkum, and Koby Reyes; and her great grandchildren, Kade and Kamble Vatnsdal, Ivanka Audet, Bode and Hudson Audet, Hadley, Hayden and Henley Holkum, Barrett and Bayle Hafner and Allie Orrantia. We love you Mom and will keep you in our hearts until we meet again. “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31 Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
