Description	:	Melinda Jane Buck was born Sept. 7, 1866, near Scottville, in McGoupin county (sic), Illinois, and departed this life January 12, 1938, at her home, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 5 days. In 1882 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Franklin Mulch, and lived in Morgan county (sic), Illinois, a few years. In 1888 the couple moved with their three children, to Nebraska, and located on a farm west of Reynolds, Nebraska, living there for two years. From there they moved to a farm near Williams, which was her home until her death. ... From there they moved to a farm near Williams, which was her home until her death. Mr. Mulch preceded her in death on June 2, 1934. To this union were born nine children, two of whom preceded her in death; Bessie Frances passing away in infancy, and Thomas Fredrick, who passed away April 25, 1932. Other children are: John and Mabel, living at home; Elbert, of Williams; Mrs. Ella Lamb, of Lincoln; Mrs. Katie Shook, of Newcastle, Wyo.; Mrs. Emma Givens, of Denver, Colo.; and Mrs. Jennie Molzahn, of Venango. Mrs. Mary Horton, a niece, of Grants Pass, Ore., was raised as a daughter from infancy. She was a good wife and precious mother, ever working and sacrificing for her children. Her life of example and teaching shall always linger in the memories of all her family. Her faith in the Lord and His sacrifice and promises was daily manifested in her life and testimony. Besides the eight children, she leaves twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. God gives us eyes that truly see, And hearts that truly feel; Thanks to the One that gave you me Your love and faith were real. Your life was what made ours worth while, For with us every where, Are memories of your dear smile, And of your loving care. All the children were present at the funeral, also 18 of the grandchildren. The finest monument that can be erected to a parent is an upright, godly children. In this obituary, which was prepared by the near relatives, no mention is made of the fact that Mrs. Mulch has a number of fine monuments of this sort. On their farm near Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Mulch builded (sic) a real home, the corner stones of which were the education of the children in the essentials of life, chastity, sobriety and financial independence. The true ideal of life is not the acquistion (sic) of wealth, but to build a Christian home, and to help the neighbors do the same, so that every family may have a home. Mrs. Mulch has done what she could. At the funeral services, which were held in the home of the deceased near Williams, the hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller, the sermon was preached by the Rev. Forest A. Heizer, of Hubbell, and the remains of this good woman were laid to rest in the cemetery near by.
