Description	:	BUFFALO - Melvin (Butch) Latham, 72, husband of Joan Fisher Latham, of 202 Pine St. died March 24, 2001, at Wallace Thompson Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Lockhart, he was the son of the late John David and Ella Mae Jones Latham. He was a Baptist. Latham was a graduate of Lockhart High School and was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Read More	BUFFALO - Melvin (Butch) Latham, 72, husband of Joan Fisher Latham, of 202 Pine St. died March 24, 2001, at Wallace Thompson Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Lockhart, he was the son of the late John David and Ella Mae Jones Latham. He was a Baptist. Latham was a graduate of Lockhart High School and was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters: Denise Alexander and Sharisse Duane Comer, both of Buffalo; a son, Dale Latham of Union; three sisters, Sara Gallman of Hendersonville, N.C., Jo Kirby of Columbia and Laura Dabbs of Lockhart; three brothers, Marion E. Latham, Bill Dean Latham and Thomas Latham, all of Lockhart; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Union Chapter of the American Red Cross, 303 S. Herndon St., Union, 29379.
