Sweinhagen, 88, Napoleon, Ohio, died May 18, 2010, at his home. He was born on December 24, 1921, in Adams Township, Defiance, Ohio, to the late John and Mary (Meyer) Sweinhagen. On February 25, 1943, he married Lola E. (Eickhoff) Sweinhagen, who survives in Napoleon. He is survived by his wife, Lola; and children, Judy Martin and Jerry (Karen) Sweinhagen, all of Napoleon, Jeffrey (Penny) Sweinhagen of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Joel (Rebecca) Sweinhagen; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Sweinhagen, all of Defiance, Ohio; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death a son, James; a great-granddaughter, Stefanie Marie; brothers, Fred Bruns and Elmer Sweinhagen; and a sister, Ruth Richards. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon with officiating Pastors Peter Marcis, Charles Kramer and John Holyer. A lunch will immediately follow the funeral service at the church. Committal services will be held on Friday at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance County, at 2 p.m. following the lunch. Visitation will be on Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
