Description	:	Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan 21, 1960 at First Presbyterian church for Melvin H. Wright who passed away early Tuesday following a heart attack at his home. Services were in charge of Rev. G.G. Nusbaum pastor. Favorite hymns were sung by Mrs. Oren Rininger accompanied by Marilyn Hogue at the organ. Mrs. L.F. Evan and Mrs. Chas Hogue were in charge of the flowers. Interment, under direction of Farber & Otteman Funeral home, was in Schaller cemetery with nephews as pallbearers. Donald Wright, Robert Wright, Earl Wright, Russell Wright, Vern, Wright, Gene Wright. Melvin H. Wright was born September 25, 1898 near Battle Creek to Enoch H. Wright and Elizabeth Freese. He died January 19, in Schaller at the age of 61. His childhood was spent on farms in this area except for two years in South Dakota. His mother died in 1913, with the boys leaving to work on various farms in this vicinity. December 11, 1924 he married Hattie Mae Schilling at Storm Lake settling in Schaller. They raised a family of three boys, Dale, Loel, and Neal and two girls, Janene and Joanne. His father, mother and oldest brother, Linus, preceded him in death. Immediate surviving relatives are his wife, Hattie; sons, Dale, Loel an Neal of California, daughters Mrs. Arthur Dixon of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Mickey Luft of Lytton, brothers: Ray Wright of Storm Lake; Paul Wright of Schaller, Lester Wright of Marathon, sisters. Mrs. Ronald Fifield of Schaller and Mrs. Jesse Marrington of Webster City. Also surviving are grandchildren. Taken from the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune 28 Jan 1960.
