Maurice "Bo" Goodnight, 79, of Bradenton, FL, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1989, in Blake Hospital. Born July 8, 1910, in Lafayette, he was a graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He moved to Bradenton in 1970. He married Thelma Abel of Otterbein on July 5, 1932; she survives. Mr. Goodnight, with his father, owned and operated Goodnight Pharmacies in Lafayette for 64 years. He formerly was a member of the Indiana State Legislature, representing Tippecanoe and Warren counties from1961-1964. He served on ways and means and state construction projects committees, and was in a group that studied feasibility of a new state school of architecture. He served on the Lafayette City Council from 1952-1956 and was president of the council in 1954. He was a member of Island Baptist Church at Bradenton. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 492, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Psi fraternities. He served as governor of Indiana District Kiwanis, on the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, and as president of the Indiana Pharmaceutical Association. Surviving with his wife are a son, Earle M. Goodnight of Fort Collins, CO; two daughters, Carole Reynolds of Bradenton, FL, and Janet Fox of Lafayette; one sister, Louann Dillon; and one brother, Francis E.
