Meredith Nicholson was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Letha Hulin and Ralph Nicholson. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1940. She married Lawrence "Jiggs" Halter on March 21, 1942, in San Luis Obispo, California. They lived on the family farm near Rhodes until 1980 when they moved to Melbourne. She was preceded in death by her husband Jiggs in 1999; her son Tom; and her grandson Jared. The family wishes to thank the staff at Glenwood Place for their loving care for the last six years. We would also like to thank the staff at Iowa River Hospice for the excellent care they provided at the end of her life.
