Joseph Castle, pastor. Mr. Walker had waited on customers a few minutes prior to his death at which time he was seated at his desk in his office at the station. He was born Feb. 26, 1901 at Janesville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker and moved to the La Porte city area with his parents when he was about 10 years old and had lived in this vicinity since that time. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, one son, Kenneth of North Bergen, N.J., by a previous marriage, eight brothers, Bert and Paul, both of Brandon, John Jr. of Jesup, Earl of Rhoads, Carl of Toledo, Irvin of Fayette, Clayton and Donald, both of Downey, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Jack Parks of La Porte City, Mrs. Ed Hilmer of Brandon, Mrs. Ruby Richardson and Mrs. Dorothy Clements both of Rhoads. The body was at the Johannsen-Rossow Funeral Home and burial was made in West View cemetery. Pallbearers were Homer Darnel, Garland Virden, Allen Kamback, Harold Matt, Truman Kaiser, Don Warford.
