He was born March 31, 1921 at Milford, Nebraska to Ammon and Lydia (Birkey) Miller, the 3rd of seven children. As a young boy he attended country school and in his youth, Merle accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church. Read More	Merle William Miller, of Milford, died suddenly Friday, Oct 3, 2003 at the age of 82 years 6 months and 3 days. He was born March 31, 1921 at Milford, Nebraska to Ammon and Lydia (Birkey) Miller, the 3rd of seven children. As a young boy he attended country school and in his youth, Merle accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church. He was later united in marriage to Irene Roth on February 28, 1946 at Milford and to this union seven children were born. Merle and Irene made their home near Milford where he was a life-time farmer. He was an active and faithful member of East Fairview Mennonite Church. In his retirement Merle enjoyed raising chickens and a wood working hobby making windmills, horse and buggys and other small items. Merle especially enjoyed spending time with his family and having fun with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Irene, Milford, children and spouses, Ruth and Jonathan Beachy, Beachy, Paraguay, Ervin and Rose Miller, Milford, Wilma Miller, Milford, and Erma Miller, Cherry Creek, SD, eleven grandchildren, Lisa Beachy and Anthony Hartzler, Marvin and Heidi Schmidt, Joel Beachy, Peter Beachy, Daniel and Rita Miller, Nathan Miller, David Miller, Galen Miller, Twila Miller, Marlese Miller, Jonathan Miller, two great-grandchildren, Carla Schmidt and Aleah Miller, brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Miller, Milford, and Clifford and Peggy Miller, Sacramento, CA, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Earl Stutzman, Albany, OR, sister-in-law, Norvene Miller, Corvallis, OR, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Merle was preceded in death by his parents, three infant children, one infant grandchild, an infant sister, and two brothers, Virgil and Kermit. Services were on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at East Fairview Mennonite Church, Rural Milford, with Bro. William Saltzman and Bro. Anthony Troyer officiating. Interment in East Fairview Mennonite Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard and Ronald Roth, Daniel, Nathan, David, Galen and Jonathan Miller. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
