She was born July 11, 1928 in Rural Monon, the daughter of Bloice and Esther (Ehnen) Barner. On June 30, 1957 in the Monon United Methodist Church, she married Harold D. Rinker. He died July 30, 1975. Mrs. Rinker was a lifetime member of the Monon United Methodist Church where she served as the church treasurer from 1967 to 1980. She has also been a Sunday school teacher. She was born July 11, 1928 in Rural Monon, the daughter of Bloice and Esther (Ehnen) Barner. On June 30, 1957 in the Monon United Methodist Church, she married Harold D. Rinker. He died July 30, 1975. Mrs. Rinker was a lifetime member of the Monon United Methodist Church where she served as the church treasurer from 1967 to 1980. She has also been a Sunday school teacher. She was a 1947 graduate of Monon High School. She received her B.S. degree from Ball State Teacher's College. She later earned a M.A. degree in library science from Purdue University. She taught in Columbus, Star City and at North White High School, from which she retired in 1974. She taught home economics, biology, and was a librarian. After retiring from teaching, she opened the Busy Fingers Yarn Shop in Monon, which she operated from 1975-1987. She was a 1975 charter member of Tri Kappa, Zeta Roe Chapter at Monon in which she remained active. She was a life long member of the NEA (National Education Association). Survivors include: one daughter, Esther Hardy of Monticello; two sons: Bryan Rinker of Monon, William 'Bill' Rinker of Monon; two sisters: Mary Dice of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Eloice [Emil] Koekenberg of Monon; one grandson: Christopher Hardy of Monticello. She was preceded in death by: her father, Bloice Barner; her mother, Esther (Ehnen) Barner; a brother, Lowell Barner; a son-in-law, Timothy Hardy.
