Mervin was born on March 21, 1928, in rural Plainfield, the son of Christian F. and Caroline (Deike) Busch. He attended school in Plainfield and Warren #6. On August 1, 1946, Mervin was united in marriage to Marie Grace Schmidt in New Mexico, Missouri. The couple lived in Waverly until 1948, when they moved to Janesville. Marie died in December of 1980. Busch, 86, of Janesville, Iowa, died late Saturday night, December 20, 2014 at his home in Janesville. Mervin was born on March 21, 1928, in rural Plainfield, the son of Christian F. and Caroline (Deike) Busch. He attended school in Plainfield and Warren #6. On August 1, 1946, Mervin was united in marriage to Marie Grace Schmidt in New Mexico, Missouri. The couple lived in Waverly until 1948, when they moved to Janesville. Marie died in December of 1980. On September 4, 1982, Mervin was united in marriage to Marcella Payne, in Independence, IA. Mervin worked for Viking Pump in Cedar Falls, IA, from November of 1947 until retiring in November of 1997. He very proudly holds the title of being the only Viking Pump employee, with 50 years of service! Mervin was a member of the Janesville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and spending time with his family, which he loved dearly. Mervin is survived by his wife, Marcella, a resident of ABCM Rehabilitation Centers of Independence; four sons, Richard (Mikki) of Hartford, CT, Robert (Darlene) of Seymour, IA, Michael of Janesville, IA, and Stephen (Kelley)of Denver, IA; two step-daughters, Debra (Gary) Briggs of Ankeny, IA; and Vickie (John) Schultz of Independence, IA; many grand and great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Albrecht of Nashua, IA; and four sister-in-laws, Bev Schmidt of Waverly, IA, Wave Nolte of Shell Rock, IA, JoAnn Sells of Clear Lake, WI, and Marvel Busch of Tripoli, IA. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marie in 1980; his parents; and three brothers, Lowell, Caroll and Lavern in infancy. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 am, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Mary Schnepf officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2014, from 4 to 7 pm, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Burial at Oakland Cemetery in Janesville will follow a luncheon. Memorials may be directed to Janesville United Methodist Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
