Description	:	Meta was born in rural Polk, County, Nebraska to Ernest and Minnie (Vogt) Niermann, where she grew up with 6 children. She graduated from 8th grade at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and was confirmed the same year in 1931. She graduated from form Polk High School in 1936. After graduation, she met Louis Heiden and was married in 1938. They had three children. They lived on a farm near Polk. Louis passed away in 1972. Read More	Meta was born in rural Polk, County, Nebraska to Ernest and Minnie (Vogt) Niermann, where she grew up with 6 children. She graduated from 8th grade at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and was confirmed the same year in 1931. She graduated from form Polk High School in 1936. After graduation, she met Louis Heiden and was married in 1938. They had three children. They lived on a farm near Polk. Louis passed away in 1972. She worked for many years after that as a cook in restaurants, nursing homes, and public schools. In 1945, she married Forest Bowman and lived on the same farmstead until his passing at which time she moved in with her daughter. In addition to enjoying her occupations of farm wife and cook, Meta enjoyed raising a variety of garden vegetables and it was rival to Del Montes when it came to canning. Meta was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, she was fervent bible reader and student, and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. She relied on the Lords promises and strength to carry on. She told many stories about her German back ground, living through the Great Depression, and surviving the Dust Bowl. She took this tragic times and turn them into stories of positivity and perseverance.
