C. Goede, and burial was in the Blue Hill cemetery. Meta Dannemann Koepke was born on the 22nd day of January, 1851, at Hanover, Germany, where she was also baptized and confirmed. She came to American in the year 1869 at the age of 18 years, and on May 15 1871 was united in marriage to Julius Koepke at Chtsworth, Illionis. They then made their home at Chicago, Illinois where they resided five years, and then returned to Chatsworth wher they lived for two years. They came to Nebraska in the spring of 1893 making their home on a farm nortwest of Blue Hill until the year 1909 when they retired from farm life and came to Blue Hill to make their home. Her husband departed this life on January 2, 1916. Mrs. Koepke spent her remainging years at her home and at the home of her daughters. Suffering an attack of la grippe only a few days while at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Kottwitz, God in his wisdon called her from this life last Friday evening, February 5, at 7:45, at the age of 81 years and 14 dayss. She leaves to mourn her death nine children: Mrs Mike Flessner, Blue Hill; Mrs George Vieth. Hastings; Mrs Anna Kottwitz, Blue Hill; Mrs August Sien, Lorah, Iowa; and Edward, Henry, William, Chris, and Carl Kopke all of Blue Hill. Two children preceded her in death a daughter dying in infancy and Julius, husband of Mrs Olga Koepke, departing his life the second day of July 1929. She also leaves 44 grandchildren na 21 great grandchildren.
