Description	:	Obituary Michael Allen Grimm "Grimey", 73, lifelong resident of Iowa City and Coralville passed away on March 20, 2022. A celebration of life will be held Sunday April 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Coralville American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his family to be distributed to organizations that were important to him. Michael was born January 24, 1949 in Iowa City, Iowa to Charles and Viola (Bell) Grimm. He attended City High before starting his career as a Forklift Operator. Michael worked for various companies, but the majority of his career was spent at Phillips 66, where he retired after 23 years. He was a simple man who enjoyed life most with a PBR in his hand while watching sports at the American Legion with his family and close friends. Michael also enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, watching the Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs, playing cards, collecting eagles and making others laugh. Michael loved time spent with his family and they will miss him greatly. His family would like to thank a dear friend to Michael, Sue Skoglund, who helped care for him as his health declined up until his last day. He is survived by two sisters Dianne (Jim) Prymek and Jeannine Grimm, both of Iowa City; a nephew David Prymek and his daughter Hannah Prymek of Coralville; and a niece Donna Prymek and her daughter Carlie Prymek of Iowa City. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
