Read More	The New Hampton Tribune of 26 Jun 1906 (excerpts) Death of Michael Casey Mr Michael Casey died Tuesday, June 19, 1906 at St Paul, the news of his death coming not as a surprise to the friends here, as the worst had been feared from the beginning of his illness. Deceased was born in Tipperary, Ireland, in 1845. At the age of two years he came with his parents to the United States. They settled in Washington County, NY and remained there until Michael was about twelve years old, when they came west and settled near Janesville, Wis. They resided there about ten years and then came to Jacksonville Township in this county where the subject of this sketch lived until about eleven years ago when he came to New Hampton and has lived here ever since. About three weeks ago Friday, he suffered a stroke of paralysis as he was leaving his work; the following Thursday he was taken to St Paul to be treated at St Joseph's Hospital; on Sunday his brother James Casey, was called to St Paul and remained with him until the end came, as stated. He leaves one brother, James Casey, of this city, two sisters, Mrs Margaret Glass of Cresco and Mrs John Fitzpatrick of Random Lake, Wis. They were all present at the funeral which was held from St Joseph's Church in this city, Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev R. Slattery officiating and interment was in St Joseph's Cemetery. Michael Casey was a quiet, unassuming man. He was a methodical old bachelor and one could tell the time of day within a very few minutes by his appearance on his accustomed rounds, so regular was he in his habits of life. We have often visited with him and his frequent kindly greeting as we passed going and coming from our daily duties always made us feel better. We are sorry he is dead.
