Read More	Michael Leonard Forsberg, 64 September 16, 1947 ~ October 3, 2011 Michael Leonard was born September 16, 1947 to Luther and Sadie (Lindgren) Forsberg. He grew up in the Hooper, Nebraska area and graduated from Hooper High School. From October 20, 1966 to October 18, 1968, he served honorably in the US Army in Vietnam. After his discharge, he returned to Hooper and worked at Valmont Industries for 2 years and then Petersen Machine for 2 years. Michael married Linda Fanning June 13, 1970 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children. They moved to Fremont, and he went to work for Hormel Foods in 1970 where he worked in several different departments, most recently as a carpenter in maintenance. He worked at Hormel for 41 years. Michael L. Forsberg, 64 years, of Fremont, NE, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Nye Legacy Health & Rehab Center in Fremont. Michael had been a member of Elim Lutheran Church at Swaburg and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. He was also a member of the Union Local 22 UFCW. He was a former member of the Hooper Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion of Hooper. Left with memories are his wife; sons Jason (Megan) Forsberg of Denver, CO and Gabe (Sara) Forsberg of Elkhorn, NE; daughter Jamey (Chris) Davey of Lincoln, NE; 2 brothers: Charles (Rosemary) Forsberg of Hooper, NE; Howard (Aloma) Forsberg of Oakland, NE; and 5 grandchildren and 1 expected grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother,Ralph Forsberg, and 1 sister, Elizabeth Forsberg. Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 7, 2011 at Elim Lutheran Church at Swaburg. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Military honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 following the service at the church. There is no viewing, however friends may sign the register book Thursday, 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. and the family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Private burial will be in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont at a later date.
