Mr. Mills was born in Westmoreland county, Jan. 18, 1824, and when 26 years of age married Nancy J. McClune. A few weeks later he moved onto the farm where he died. For years Mr. Mills was engaged in the mercantile business at Shippenville, but soon returned to the old home at Corsica. Mr. Mills was born in Westmoreland county, Jan. 18, 1824, and when 26 years of age married Nancy J. McClune. A few weeks later he moved onto the farm where he died. For years Mr. Mills was engaged in the mercantile business at Shippenville, but soon returned to the old home at Corsica. To Mr. and Mrs. Mills were born seven children, five of whom are still living. O. L. Mills at Scotch Hill, James L. at Warren, Lizzie N. and Freedie A. at home, and Wm. M. at Osawatomic, Kansas. The latter returned home a few weeks ago and remained constantly at the bedside of his father until death came. Michael Mills had been a citizen of this county since 1847 and was greatly esteemed by all who knew him.
