He was born September 14, 1961 at Topeka, the son of Forrest Dean and Judith A. Robison Kidney. Michel grew up in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1979. He was born September 14, 1961 at Topeka, the son of Forrest Dean and Judith A. Robison Kidney. Michel grew up in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1979. He attended Kansas State University two years. He was raised in the Rossville Christian Church and was currently a member of the Unitarian Church in Topeka. Michel had a love of history and was an avid watcher of the History Channel. Michel worked for the Kansas Turnpike, Custom Wood Products at St. Marys, and then for Swift Trucking in Kansas City. He married Karie A. Baker. They were divorced. He was preceded in death by a brother, Timmey Kidney, and grandparents, Emmett and Anna Kidney, and Charles and Vivian Robison. Survivors include his parents, Forrest Dean and Susan Kidney, and Judith A. and Ken DeBusk, all of Topeka; two daughters, Brandy L. Kidney and Kasie R. Kidney, both of Topeka; two brothers, James P. Kidney, Holton, Bryan Kidney, Shawnee; a sister, Tina Schindler, St. Marys; one step-brother, Todd Drury, Las Vegas, Nevada; one step-sister, Heather Hendron, Tampa, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Michel will lie in state until noon Saturday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 524 Pennsylvania, Holton, where family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday. He will also lie in state an hour before service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Brandy & Kasie Kidney Education Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P. O. Box 1034, Holton, 66436.
