Four years ago she was first stricken with that dread disease, cancer, and although she had been to several hospitals and had tried every known remedy she had been unable to find any cure and the disease had gradually grown worse until the end came. She had been confined to her bed for over a month and for a week or more had been unable to take any nourishment. Miggelliena Braak was born at Holland, Iowa, on June 19, 1878. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Lenox, South Dakota, and on Mar. 11, 1896, she was married to Albert Neeman at Chancellor, South Dakota, where they resided until 1905 when the family moved onto a farm in Allen township (*Beadle County), about midway between this point and Wolsey. About 5 years ago they disposed of their property here and moved to Draper, west of the river. In May of this year her condition became so bad that the family came to Wessington to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Ora Parker. When death claimed her she had reached the age of 48 years, 1 month and 17 days. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a good neighbor. During her residence in this county she united with the Presbyterian Church of Wolsey and lived consistent with her vows. Mourning her loss are her husband and eight children: Mrs. Sylvia Parker, of Wessington, George, of Lennox, Berend, of Draper, Albert of Murdo, Michael, Trait, Fred, and Marcus, all of whom will from now on make their home with their sister here in Wessington. She also leaves one brother and five sisters in various parts of this state, besides many dear friends who will always feel richer for their memories of her. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church here on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.J. Beach, of the M.E. Church of St. Lawrence. Interment was made in the Wessington cemetery.
