Read More	SOURCE: Death Certificate: '''''''''''''''''''''''' Mignon Tadsen, 107, of Forsyth passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth. She was born on March 27, 1898, on the family homestead seven miles west of Forsyth, the daughter of Andrew and Christine Andersen Tadsen. The middle child, she had an older and a younger brother and sister. When she was a young child, the area became a county, and she remembered the workers building the beautiful new courthouse. She grew up on the homestead, attending the cottonwood log-walled school that her father and grandfather built, which was named the Andersen School. In 1917, she graduated from the Forsyth High School and went to work for the first county agent in Rosebud County. During the flood of 1918, she remembered having to get to the courthouse in a rowboat. In 1919, she got a job with the Clerk and Recorder's office, where she worked until 1950. She later worked with the Superintendent of Schools. She was active on the cemetery board and prepared the first cemetery map. A member of the Federated Church in Forsyth since 1919, she also was a member of the state and county Pioneers Association and the Marguerte Rebekah Lodge. In 1933, she was president of the State Assembly and delegate to the National Assembly in Chicago. History remained important to her throughout her life. She was one of the primary forces behind the Rosebud County Pioneer Museum and worked for many hours on "They Came and Stayed," the history of Rosebud County produced by the Rosebud County Bicentennial Committee in 1977. Being a staunch Republican, she was an active member of the Rosebud County Republican Party. She saw the advancement of most everything in Rosebud County as well as in the nation. From the invention of the typewriter the year she was born, to radio transmission when she was three, the building of the Courthouse, development of Forsyth and Rosebud County, as well as the ability to fly people into outer space. What we look at as standard today, she learned throughout her life. Her survivors include her sister, Louise Fleming of Forsyth; one nephew, Walt Tadsen, and his wife, Linda, of Forsyth; four great-nephews, Wade Fleming of Tucson, Ariz., Flint Fleming of Miles City, Cody Tadsen and Casey Tadsen, both of Forsyth; one great-niece, Ginger Nangle of Tucson; two great-great-nephews, Kyle Fleming and Jared Mack; and one great-great-niece, Sarah Nangle. Survivors also include her nieces-in-law, Judy Fleming of Tucson and Jean Fleming of Miles City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill and Walter; one sister, Elfie; and two nephews, Douglas Fleming and Richard Gary Fleming. Funeral services were on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church in Forsyth. Burial followed in the Forsyth Cemetery, Forsyth, MT. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Rosebud County Pioneer Museum in Forsyth or to a charity of one's choice.
