Description	:	See Certificate of the County Court of King and Queen County, Virginia, 13 October 1851, in Mildred Cooke widow’s pension application W4657, for service of Dawson Cooke (Midn., Va. Sea Service, Rev. War), Revolutionary War Pensions and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, NARA microfilm M804, roll 642. This certificate of the court based upon the evidence presented certifies the seven children of Revolutionary War veteran Dawson Cooke and his wife Mildred as “Mary, Ann, Paschal, Mildred, Henry, Dawson, and Giles Cooke.” It adds “that of these Ann C. Brushwood is the only surviving child, that Mary died in the year... This certificate of the court based upon the evidence presented certifies the seven children of Revolutionary War veteran Dawson Cooke and his wife Mildred as “Mary, Ann, Paschal, Mildred, Henry, Dawson, and Giles Cooke.” It adds “that of these Ann C. Brushwood is the only surviving child, that Mary died in the year 1802 on the 8th day of March, that Paschal died in the year 1826 on the 25th day of January, that Mildred died in the year 1816 on the 16th day of October, that Henry died in the year 1837 on the 4th day of December, and that Dawson died in the year 1842 on the 8th day of March.” Note that the death of Giles is not recorded here but those details can be found within the same pension application in the affidavit of Rev. Cincinnatus Goodall, 26 August 1851. This is the affidavit of Rev. Cincinnatus Goodall taken 26 August 1851. Rev. Goodall states that “Giles Cook[e] was the first husband of the wife of the affiant. The said affiant knows of no Record in the County Court Record of this County aforesaid [Elizabeth City], Church Record, Sextons Record, or Inscription on a Tombstone of the time of said Giles Cookes death. The said Giles Cooke died in the County of Elizabeth City in aforesaid state on the 28th day of January 1847 & that affiant was present & assisted at his funeral.”
