Description	:	See amended affidavit of Ann C. Brushwood, 22 January 1851, in Mildred Cooke widow’s pension application W4657, for service of Dawson Cooke (Midn., Va. Sea Service, Rev. War), Revolutionary War Pensions and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, NARA microfilm M804, roll 642. This affidavit of Ann C. Brushwood, the only surviving child of Dawson and Mildred Cooke, attests to the service of her father Dawson in the Revolutionary War and that he married her mother Mildred in King and Queen County in December 1775 before his service began. Brushwood, the only surviving child of Dawson and Mildred Cooke, attests to the service of her father Dawson in the Revolutionary War and that he married her mother Mildred in King and Queen County in December 1775 before his service began. Ann states that the oldest child was Mary who was born on 15 October 1776 and was the only source of comfort to Mildred while Dawson was in service. Ann adds that “Dawson Cooke died on the 14th day of November A.D. Eighteen hundred and twenty nine leaving a widow the said Mildred Cooke aged seventy eight years which said widow died on the 14th day of August A.D. Eighteen hundred and thirty six."
