Description	:	OBITUARY--MILDRED SCHARFF Mildred, daughter of William C. and Fannie Shaumbaugh Gundlock, was born in Scott Township, Fayette County, Iowa, Dec. 8, 1885 and passed to the greater life at 8:00 a.m. Feb. 20, 1939. Read More	OBITUARY--MILDRED SCHARFF Mildred, daughter of William C. and Fannie Shaumbaugh Gundlock, was born in Scott Township, Fayette County, Iowa, Dec. 8, 1885 and passed to the greater life at 8:00 a.m. Feb. 20, 1939. Her age being 53 years, 2 months and 12 days. Her education was recieved in the rural schools. At an early age she became a regular church attendant, and at the age of eleven she became baptized and became a member of the Christian Church. For several years she taught and worked in the different departmets of the Bible School and church. On Dec. 25, 1912, she was united in marriage with Bert Sharff of Lamont, Iowa. To this union three children were born; a daughter who died in infancy, a daughter Margaret Elizabeth, and a son Willard Carlton. She has made her home in Oelwein since the fall of 1920. Although she was never as physically strong as most people, she was at all times cheerful and energetic. She was always willing to help friends and neighbors as well as members of her own family. Her health had been failing for the last two years. She had been bedfast since Dec. 7, 1938, spending two weeks in Mercy Hospital. On Jan. 11 she was moved to the home of her sister, Mrs. A. C. Staple, 731--1st Ave. N.E. where she remained until her passing. The immediate relatives who are saddened by her passing are a daughter, Margaret Scharff of St. Paul, Minn., a son, Willard Scharff of Oelwein, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Gundlach, and her sister, Mrs. A.C. Staple, of Oelwein, a brother, Scott Gundlach of Aurora, Ia., and a brother Grover Gundlach of Los Angeles, Calif. There is left also, three nephews, two nieces and many more distant relatives. Funeral services held Wednesday from the Christisn Church, Rev. Wm. McClurg officiating.
