Mildred was born March 7, 1921 in Leshara, NE to Theodore J and Ruth (Hansen) Gocken. She grew up in Leshara and moved to Fremont in 1936. She was a 1939 graduate of Fremont High School. Mildred married Donald Kirchmann on September 21, 1940 in Papillion, NE. The couple moved to Valley, NE where they farmed until 1986, when they returned to Fremont. Don died on September 3, 1991. Mildred was a charter member since Dec. 13, 1953 of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Valley. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Bunko Club, a TOPS Club member since Dec. 31, 1973, member of V.F.W. Post #854 Auxiliary since Oct. 7, 1996 and a 40 year member of KOPS. Mildred enjoyed bowling, gardening and flowers and playing cards. She was a seamstress, loved dancing and for 25 years she organized her Class Reunions, including the 50th and 75th. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Kirchmann of Fremont; son, Robert and wife, Linda Kirchmann of Linwood, NE; sister, Carol Brandt of Fremont; brother-in-law, Frank and wife, Helen Kirchmann of Valley; sister-in-law, Jan Kirchmann of East Lansing, MI; 2 grandsons, Kurtis and wife, Susan Kirchmann of Lincoln, NE and Kraig Kirchmann and fiancee, Kathy Knollenberg of Fremont; 3 great grandchildren, Josie, Ryann and Cole Kirchmann. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral service, 10:30 AM, Thursday, St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Valley, NE. The Rev. Terry Tomlinson will officiate. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Wed. from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Thursday at church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn, NE. Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Valley." Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
