Description	:	Thanks to contributor # 48763187 Mildred Irene Wathen, 91, of Albion, formerly of St. Edward, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Albion. The Rev. Terry Otto will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at St. Edward. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Levander Funeral Home. Mrs. Wathen was born Jan. 31, 1908, at Newman Grove to Clarence E. and Selma C. (Borg) Matson. She attended Platte County District 63 School south of Newman Grove and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1927. She married Herbert E. Wathen on April 4, 1942, in Fremont. They lived in St. Edward until 1960, when they moved to Pierce. They moved to Hastings in 1978. They returned to St. Edward in 1982. Mr. Wathen died later that year. Mrs. Wathen moved to Albion in 1992. She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include her sister, Lois Gates of Albion. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elton, Eugene and Dale Matson; and one sister, Blanche Hartjoy.
