Description	:	Mildred Barclay, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2011. She was born in Wilsall, Montana to Peter and Elma (Mather) Killorn on February 26, 1913. Read More	Mildred Barclay, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2011. She was born in Wilsall, Montana to Peter and Elma (Mather) Killorn on February 26, 1913. She lived out of Wilsall where her parents farmed, and attended school in Wilsall, from first grade through high school, graduating in 1931. In 1932, her family moved to Belgrade to work. They were neighbors of her future husband, Laurence Barclay. In 1939, her family moved to Livingston. One summer, she cooked on a cattle ranch out of Wilsall. The following summer, she was a cook at the Mammoth Park Hospital. In August of 1939, Laurence proposed to Mildred and they were married on November 12, 1941 at the Methodist church in Livingston, Montana. Laurence and Mildred’s first home was on Jackrabbit Lane where their three daughters, Edith, Lucille, and Linette, were born. In the fall of 1944, they moved to their home on Monforton School Road where they farmed and raised their family. In 1990, Laurence and Mildred moved to Southbrook Condominiums in Bozeman, and then moved to Highgate in 2005. They spent twenty wonderful years as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona, where they both enjoyed golf and spending time with many friends. Mildred was blessed with many gifts and talents, the one she enjoyed the most was sewing. She made most of her daughters clothing as they grew up, and sewed for others as well. She was a 4-H leader for ten years and helped every girl in the Rainbow 4-H Club with their projects. Knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint were among her many talents. She was a wonderful cook; her home was always filled with the aroma of fresh baked bread, cookies, and doughnuts. Mildred was a charter member of the County Home Extension Club, and belonged to a community club, YGIG. She was clerk at Monforton School for several years , and an election clerk. For many years, she worked in the food division at the Gallatin County Fair. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters, and daughter, Edith. Surviving is her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Laurence; two daughters, Lucille (Phil) Jollif and Linette (Jim) Johnson; son-in-law, Ric (Susan) Tieman; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mildred always had a smile and that Irish “twinkle” in her eye. She was loving, caring, and had a wonderful sense of humor, up to her last day on earth. She will be missed by many. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Visitation at Dokken-Nelson will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, March 18. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Foundation for Hospice of SW Montana, 931 Highland Blvd. Ste. 3200. Bozeman, MT 59715.
