Mildred was born May 27, 1925, in Elgin, Neb., to the late Anton and Alvina (Ries) Deitering. She graduated from Modale, Iowa High School in 1944. She married Donald E. Willard on February 27, 1954, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Shannon and Chuck. Mildred was born May 27, 1925, in Elgin, Neb., to the late Anton and Alvina (Ries) Deitering. She graduated from Modale, Iowa High School in 1944. She married Donald E. Willard on February 27, 1954, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Shannon and Chuck. The Willard family made their home in Persia, Iowa, for many years before moving to Council Bluffs. Mildred earned her LPN degree from IWCC in 1967. She worked at Myrtue Hospital, in Harlan, Iowa, and Bethany Lutheran Home, in Council Bluffs. She was of the Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Deitering. Mildred is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald E. Willard, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Shannon (Michael) Rice, of Omaha, Neb.; son, Chuck (Helen) Willard, of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Tim (Tracie) Rice, Keri (Jim) Boehm; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Duane (Beverly) Deitering, of Blair, Neb., Gary (Melody) Deitering, of Capon, Okla.; nieces and nephews. Graveside service and burial, Monday, 11 a.m., in Valley View Cemetery, Persia, Iowa. Lunch and visitation will follow at the home of Chuck and Helen Willard, 256 Linden Ave., Council Bluffs. The family will direct memorial contributions.
