Description	:	Mildred "Milly" Schluter, age 73, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek, Iowa. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. She grew up and attended school in Sanborn, graduating in 1953. She continued her education at Wayne State University and Morningside College, where she earned a degree in elementary education and library science. Mildred was married to Ronald Schluter on June 27, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. The couple had two children, Lon and Jan. Mildred was employed by Ida Grove Community Schools her entire career. She began as an elementary teacher and later became the librarian in all three buildings. Mildred retired in 2000, after working 42 years. After retiring Mildred enjoyed riding bike, spending time with her grandkids, and her weekly breakfast dates. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; two children, Lon (Angie) Schluter of Ida Grove, and Jan (Dan) Martocci of Belvidere, IL; and her grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Martocci, Jayde and Kylie Schluter, and Trey Bell. She is also survived by a brother, Walter (Pat) Foley, Jr. of Bolivia, NC; a sister-in-law, Marilyn (Walter) Sonksen of Avoca; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret Schwien and Edna Tonner.
