Elsewhere in this issue it is stated that the little child of Mr. and Mrs. Thos, Snyder, at Russell Gulch, Colorado, was reported dangerously ill with scarlet fever. Today a telegram was received here conveying the sad intelligence that the little one had passed away. Mrs. Snyder is also quite ill with the disease, but the two older children are recovering. Little was it thought when she and her children, went there a few weeks ago to visit her parents that such sad circumstances would arise, and the family has the unbounded sympathy of many friends here in their trials and bereavement. [Page 1] A letter received by relatives of Thos. Snyder, who was summoned to Russell Gulch, Colorado, about ten days ago by the serious illness of his two eldest children with scarlet fever, states they have passed the danger point and will recover. But his wife now has the disease, as also has their youngest child, whose life is hanging in the balance.
