Milford, the son of Simon P. and Florence (Dunlap) Massie, was born September 25, 1913, northeast of Frankfort, Kansas, in the farm home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Dunlap. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Labbe, Vermillion, Kansas, on November 1, 1937 in the Christian Church Parsonage in Marysville Kansas, with the Reverend Clayton Hildebrant performing the ceremony. Milford, the son of Simon P. and Florence (Dunlap) Massie, was born September 25, 1913, northeast of Frankfort, Kansas, in the farm home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Dunlap. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Labbe, Vermillion, Kansas, on November 1, 1937 in the Christian Church Parsonage in Marysville Kansas, with the Reverend Clayton Hildebrant performing the ceremony. The became the parents of one son, Harold Lee, Massie. Milford spent his lifetime farming in the Frankfort area. He retired from farming in November, 1981, and he and his wife, Lorr- iane moved to Frankfort, Kansas, where they bought a home. Milford was a quiet man but a friend to every- one. Many enjoyed listening to him tell the history of the community that he remembered of years gone by. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, of the home; his son Harold Lee Massie; a daughter, Carolyn; his granddaughter, Dana, and grand- son, Keaton, all of West Linn, Oregon; two brothers, Rex Massie, Frankfort, Kansas and Lloyd Massie, Fountain, Colorado; and other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at the Padden Chapel with Reverend John Burgreen in charge. Mrs. Cheryl Shepherd organist accompanied Mrs. Lorene Shearer provided the music. Inurnment was in the Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
