Milla May Warren was born November 22, 1867, in Warren county, Illinois, in a log cabin. In 1878 the Warren family moved to Nebraska. In the early days the family lived in a sod house. Milla May Warren was born November 22, 1867, in Warren county, Illinois, in a log cabin. In 1878 the Warren family moved to Nebraska. In the early days the family lived in a sod house. She was a regular attendant at the Methodist Sunday school and church known as Fairview in York county. She was united in marriage to Steward Shaner July 4, 1887, at Sutton Neb. To this union were born eight children, four sons, and four daughters: Harry N. of York, Iryl R. of Geneva, Charles R. of Council Bluffs, Ia., Paul F. of Geneva, Mrs. R. A. Smith of Geneva, Mrs. Glenn D. Sigrist of Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Lyle Manson of Bradshaw, and Mrs. Harold N. Behm of Warner Robbins, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Shaner spent most of their married life near Lushton except for a few years spent on a farm near Overton, Neb. Since the death of her husband in March 1942, Mrs. Shaner had made her home with her children. She leaves to mourn her death her four sons, four daughters, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Warren of Reno, Nev., and Sam Warren of Yuma, Col., two sisters, Mrs. Ray Hayes of York, and Mrs. Alma Wattles of Lushton, Neb., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Geneva, Thursday, February 8, Rev. Elmer R. Peterson officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal Feb. 15, 1945 page 1.
