He was born in Clarance, Cedar County, Iowa October 26, 1869 to Sally Ann Miller Gamble and Marion Arad Gamble. In 1880 he with his parents moved to a farm east of Persia. February 13, 1899 he was married to Mollie christina Burmeister of Persia. They resided east of Persia. They resided east of Persia until retirement in 1942 when they moved into Persia. He had been failing in health for some time. He was born in Clarance, Cedar County, Iowa October 26, 1869 to Sally Ann Miller Gamble and Marion Arad Gamble. In 1880 he with his parents moved to a farm east of Persia. February 13, 1899 he was married to Mollie christina Burmeister of Persia. They resided east of Persia. They resided east of Persia until retirement in 1942 when they moved into Persia. To this union two children were born; Howard Raymond and Mildred Evelyn. He was a member of the Methodist church and member of the church board. He had been a director and president of the Persia bank for many years. His wife Mollie, and one son, Howard preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs Mildred (Frank) Hartman of Littleton, Colorado and six grandchildren, Linda, Connie and Craig Hartman, David Gamble Ankenman, Rose Ann Gamble Ankenman, Paul Gamble Ankenman and a step brother and sister. Funeral services were held Monday, January 5, 1959 at the Methodist church in Persia with the Rev. Roy W. Pfaff officiating. Burial was in the Shelby cemetery, at Shelby, Iowa. Pallbearers were; Gus Hamann, Roy McGovern, John Willard, Duane Kemmish, Farmer Pearcy and Herman Kuster. Harlan Tribune Harlan, Iowa January 13, 1959
