Burial was in Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau North Dakota. Milton died Thursday June 3, 2004 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, North Dakota. Milton Arlan Rothe was born April 11, 1930 at Bottineau, North Dakota, to Leonard and Emma (Froseth) Rothe. He lived at Carbury, North Dakota until he was 2 years old when the family moved to the farm near Newburg, North Dakota. On November 19, 1953, Milton married Janice Nostdahl of Bottineau, North Dakota. Mitz had four children, Doug, Mary, Peggy and Stuart and lived on the farm until Stuart took over operations in 1996. Mitz was also a licensed plumber operated Rothe's Septic Tank Service for 25 years. During his lifetime he had been a member of Mouse River Lutheran Church of rural Landa, North Dakota; Dovre Lutheran Church of Newburg, North Dakota and Metigoshe Lutheran Church at Lake Metigoshe. He was on the church council, school board, township board, Midwest Federal board and the Souris River Telephone board. After retiring from farming, Janice and Milton moved to their lake home at Lake Metigoshe where he enjoyed woodworking, feeding the birds and gardening. Mitz loved nature and had respect for the land and the cycles of life, whether it be a seed planted, a new grandchild born, a crop harvested or history of friends and relatives. He was known to be able to visit with anyone. He felt fortunate for the life he was able to live, and his family felt fortunate to have a husband and father like him. He gave the kind of love and caring that make all the difference. This past year Milton and Janice moved to Brentmoor House in Minot, North Dakota, grateful for the extra help during dialysis. He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Doug and his wife Nancy Rothe of Hazen, North Dakota; daughter Mary and her husband Randy Rubbert of Reynolds, North Dakota; daughter Peggy and her husband Greg Lider of Bottineau, North Dakota; and son, Stuart and his wife Angie on the farm at Newburg, North Dakota. Also ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Emma; one brother, Orval; and an infant granddaughter, Angela Grace Rothe.
