Milton was born October 29, 1924 in Plainview, NE to Dee and Violet(Bowers)Boies. He grew up on a farm near O'Neill, NE. He moved to Fremont at the age of 15 and worked at Plumfield Nursery in Fremont for a time. Milton married Rose Ranieri on June 17, 1945 in Scribner, NE. He had been residing at the Hooper Care Center for the last 2 years. Milton was an outdoorsman. He loved to pheasant hunt and catch catfish. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing spades and aggravation with his family. Milton was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; daughter, Nancy Shimerdla of Fremont; sister, Mardell Eix of Fremont; brothers, Glenn and wife, Opal Boies of Fremont, Vernon and wife, Jeannette Boies of Tennessee and Jerry Boies of Arlington, NE; 3 grandchildren, Laurie Hegemann, Dan Sass and Olivia Crull all of Fremont; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and great grandson, Nicholas; and dog, Sheba. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. David Coe will officiate. Visitation on Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Thursday at church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family." Published at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
