Description	:	Rocky Mountain Husbandman, Diamond City, MT, 2 May 1878 We regret to learn of the death of Milton Tipton, once a highly respected citizen of Montana, which occurred at his new home in Colorado March 20, after a severe illness of smallpox. Mr. Tipton was among the earliest white settlers in Montana, was superintendent of the government farm in Missoula county for several years, was among the first to engage in farming, owned a fine farm near Frenchtown, where he planted the first orchard in out territory, before the discovery of gold. Upon his removal to Colorado, he became a prominent and useful member of the order of the Patrons of Husbandry. He was born in Montgomery county, KY, and was 48 years old at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and six children, and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
