He was one of the best known residents in eastern Lucas and Wayne counties, and was over eighty years of age. More than sixty-five years ago he came to Iowa and settled in Wright township, Wayne county, and resided there ever since. The Wrights came from Putnam county, Indiana and did their part in developing the commonwealth. The deceased was a brother of the late Hon. Greenwood Wright. Milton Wright, son of Samuel and Jane Wright, was born in Putnam county, Indiana, September 17th, 1835, and departed this life December 9th, 1917, aged 82 years, 2 months and 22 days. He was married to Sarah Hill on December 22, 1861. To this union were born six children, Wesley, Robert, William, Eddie, Nellie and Maggie. His wife and son, William, and daughter, Maggie, preceded him to the better land. He moved with his family to Wayne county, Iowa in 1865, and resided there until last year. He was never united with any church, but was always found on the side of right. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and an obliging neighbor. He leaves to mourn his departure four children, fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held on Tuesday.
