J BROKENS BURIED TODAY AT ZIONS CHURCH Funeral services for Mrs. Mina Christina Brokens were held today from the Goettsch Funeral home to Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Wayne Township. The service at the church was held at 1:30 p.m. and was in charge of Rev. F.H. Kehren, pastor. The pallbearers were John Rickels, Alfred Folkerts, Ed Stutt, Eilert Onken, Adolph Dierks and Ben Wolken. Mrs. Brokens passed away at the John McDonald hospital Monday, July 22, after a two months illness. She had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Fechtman in Wayne township. Her birth occurred at Strackholt, Germany, Dec. 27, 1861. She had lived in this country for 60 years. Her marriage to John Brokens occurred Oct. 3, 1883, in Germany. They became the parents of three daughters, one of whom, Anna Eliza Stadtmueller, preceded her mother in death. The survivors include Mrs. Etta Stadtmueller, of Castle Grove township, and Mrs. John Fechtman (Lena). She is also survived by a brother, Brunke Saathoff of Ryan, five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Interment was made at the Wayne Zion cemetery adjoining the church.
