Description	:	Mina Marvin, the daughter of Frank G. Marvin and Angie Biggs Marvin, was born at Hubbell, Neb., on August 5, 1893, and died at Lincoln on May 18, 1979. She was 85 years, 8 months and 13 days of age. Marvin and Angie Biggs Marvin, was born at Hubbell, Neb., on August 5, 1893, and died at Lincoln on May 18, 1979. She was 85 years, 8 months and 13 days of age. At an early age she became interested in the church, taught Sunday school classes for years, was president of the Ladies Aid of the United Brethren Church at Geneva from 1930 to 1940. She attended the University of Nebraska, taught school in Thayer county, in Lancaster county and in Otoe county. On June 24, 1923, she was united in marriage to Elmer C. Churchill at the E. U. B. Church in Lincoln. To them were born four sons, F. D. (John), the twins Richard and Raymond, and Glen. The couple lived for some time in Geneva, moving to Lincoln in 1942 which has since been her home. Mina joined her husband in many patriotic and social organizations. She helped him when he was the commander of the Geneva American Legion Post No. 63; when he was Commander of Barracks No. 165, W. W. I of Lincoln; and when he was state commander of the Veterans of World War I. Mina was a member of the Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post No. 131, Lincoln; a “Lady Bug Firefly Circle No. 3.” She has held every office in the Auxiliary Barracks No. 165, W.W.I; was chairman of the V.A.V.S. Service Helper at the Veterans Hospital which she served for 24 years. Mrs. Churchill was a member of Charity Rebecca Lodge No. 2 of the O.E.S. No. 148 of Lincoln and has held continuous membership in the United Methodist Church at Geneva. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Golda Merritt, of Reynolds, Neb., and by her husband, Elmer C., who died on December 5, 1972. She is survived by the four sons: John of Salem, Ore., Richard M. of Shingle springs, Cal., Raymond E. of Plainfield, Ill., and Glen L. of Lincoln; and by their wives; two sisters, Mrs. Zola Sweet, New Castle, Wyo., and Mrs. Lucy F. Rose, Denver, Col.; by a brother, Theodore Marvin of Hebron; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 21st, 1979, at 10:30 a.m., at the Hodgman-Splain-Roberts Mortuary, Lincoln with her long-time friend, the Rev. John W. Ekwall officiating. Burial services were held on Monday afternoon at the Geneva Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Funk in charge. The Nebraska Signal May 24th, 1979 page 13.
