The remains were brought to the city today to be buried beside her husband, and the funeral services will be held from the home place in the city at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Reynolds was one of the pioneer settlers of Harper, breaking up housekeeping about two years ago to make her home with her children. A more extended notice will be given next week. Mrs. Reynolds had many friends in Harper and they are pained to hear of her sudden death. Her son, E. W. Reynolds arrived last night from Chicago to make arrangements for the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. McClure of Kansas City, Mrs. J. W. Ruffing of Chicago and Mrs. J. N. Ingram of Dayton, Texas, accompanied the remains. "Harper Advocate", Harper, Kansas, November 26, 1909: Minerva Catherine Smock was born September 16, 1833, in Jefferson county, Indiana. Was married to Elsbery W. Reynolds in 1857 at Drakeville, Iowa; removed from Iowa to Carrolton, Missouri in 1865 and from there moved to her late home, Harper, Kansas, in 1883. Mrs. Reynolds united with the M.E. church in childhood, later becoming a member of the Christian church, and was a charter member of the First Christian church of Harper. She was a member of the Harper Rebekah Lodge and Relief Corps, being an active member. The following children survive her: Mrs. J. N. Ingram of Dayton, Texas; Mrs. M. L. McClure of Kansas City, Missouri, and E. W. Reynolds, McPherson Reynolds and Mrs. J. W. Ruffing, Chicago, Illinois. With the exception of McPherson all were present at the funeral. After an illness of about five weeks Mrs. Reynolds departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. L. McClure at Kansas City, Missouri in the morning of November 10, 1909. The remains were brought to Harper for burial beside her husband in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, the services being conducted by Elder M. B. Ingle at the late home in this city of the deceased at 2:30 November 12th. Mrs. Reynolds was a lady generally respected and her numerous friends sincerely sympathize with the family. Miller was the son of Gilbert Miller and his 1st wife, Mary Ann Roundy. Julia and Sabrina were daughters of Minerva and Gilbert V. Miller, Minerva's 1st husband.}
