Franks, widow of the late Dr. S. O. Franks, a highly respected lady of this place, had committed suicide. Since the death of her husband last September, Mrs. Franks has been failing in health and was usually in a melancholy state of mind. Franks, widow of the late Dr. S. O. Franks, a highly respected lady of this place, had committed suicide. Since the death of her husband last September, Mrs. Franks has been failing in health and was usually in a melancholy state of mind. Monday morning she left the home of her son Clarence, with whom she ha resided since her husband's death. It was thought that she had gone to some of the neighbors, but when she failed to return home at dinner time, search was instituted, and the body was found dead in the loft of the barn at her former home, which is on South Third street and had been unoccupied since her removal to her son's home. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Hattie Rockey, of Oklahoma; Mrs. Alta M'Cutcheon, of Washington; Wm. N. Franks, of Atlanta, Iowa; Mrs. Anna McCracken, of Bonaparte; Clarence P. Franks, of Farmington; and Mrs. Jennie Sawyers, of Hannibal, Mo., all of whom have many friends who sympathize with them in their deep affiction. Source: Van Buren Co. To Bentonsport in 1879, thence to Farmington in 1895. Her husband died September 5, 1912. 6 children, all surviving: Mrs. Hattie Rockey, Suguache, CO; Mrs. Alta McCutcheon of Auburn, WA; Wm. N. Franks of Atlantic, IA; Mrs. Anna McCracken of Bonaparte; Clarence P. Franks of Farmington, IA and Mrs. Jennie F. Sawyers of Hannibal, MO. Leaves large number of grandchildren, one great grandchild and a brother, John Nixon of Apple Creek, OH. F-Farmington Cem, Farmington.
