She obtained her education in the public schools in Boone through the efforts of her brother Verne, who brought her to and from classes. At approximately the age of 12 years the rest of her education was obtained by home study. Despite her severe handicap she was always busy at needlework and painting for which she received remuneration enough to repay much of the tender kindness shown to her by all. During her lifetime Minnie was a patient sufferer and delighted in the presence of children near her. In the last five months she had been confined to her bed and in recent weeks had expressed a desire to be taken Home. Doubtless she had fully realized that her contribution to this world had been given. In her days and nights of suffering doubtless she held close communion with her God because she never complained of the burdens she had to bear.
