Description	:	Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bride colonial funeral Home here for Mrs. Minnie C. Claus, 80, Northwood, Iowa, a former Topekan, who died Saturday in a care home at Northwook, Iowa. She had cancer. She was born June 8, 1890, near Clay Center, Kan., the daughter of William F. and Bonettie Heikes Carls. She moved with her parents to the Wakarusa community in Shawnee County in 1900. She attended Topeka High School and was graduated from Pittsburg State College. She taught in Wakarusa and Carbondale area schools several years and also taught at Sylvan Grove in Lincoln... She was married to Herbert Claus June 6, 1922 at Wakarusa, Kan. He died in October, 1969. She also was preceded in death two sons, Russell W. Claus and Carl J. Claus. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Odegaard, rural Northwook, Iowa; a son, Ernest Claus, Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Spear, 1279 Mulvane, Topeka, and Mrs. Murray Rice, Emmett, Kans.; two brothers, William F. Carls and George T. Carls, both of Wakarusa, Kan.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Plymouth Cemetery, Plymouth, Iowa. Taken from newspaper obituary.
