Nickels, 87, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Gaston, with burial following in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Fanning, Rev. Gary Farmer, and Rev. Gene Rowell. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class. Born in Lexington County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Magnice Lorenzo and Lula Sarah Walsh Pound. Mrs. Nickels was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She retired from Richland School District I and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah N. and Gary Joe Meetze of Irmo, Loretta N. and Cecil Meetze of Lexington; son and daughter-in-law, C. Anderson "Andy" and Suzanne Nickels of Lexington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Vivian Pound of West Columbia, Marvin and Mary Pound of Gaston; grandchildren and spouses, Thomas and Tammie Meetze, Kimberley and George Mathis, Joy and Ron Brewer, Eric Nickels, Leah Nickels; great-grandchildren, Drew and Dylan Meetze, Sarah and Lawton Mathis, and Nicholas Brewer. © The State, Columbia, SC, 27 Dec 2006
