Her age was 79 years, 1 month and 21 days. Minnie Eilers was one of nine children of John P. Eilers and Sophie Giestfeld Eilers. She was born Dec. 16, 1887 at Sterling, Nebr., and on Jan. 1, 1888 she was baptized by Pastor Burmeister of Immanuel Lutheran church west of Sterling. She was confirmed by the Rev. Theodore Hansen in that same church on March 23, 1902. On Dec. 8, 1914 whe was married to Ed. C. Fritsch in the St. John Lutheran church in Sterling. Pastor Wunderlich officiated. They made their home on a farm west of Sterling for many years; were residents of Lincoln three years, and after their retirement from the farm came to Sterling to make their home a number of years ago. In December of 1964 the couple was privileged to celebrate their golden wedding. One son, Lorin, was born to them, and with his father survives her. Other survivors include her daughter-in-law; four granddaughters, Vicki, Connie, Laurie and Cara of Auburn; one brother, Edward H. Eilers of Sterling; also nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Annie, Tena and Louise; four brothers, John, Henry, Fred and Conrad. Mrs. Eilers was an active member of St. John American Lutheran church in Sterling and she received a life membership pin from the St. John American Lutheran Church Women. Funeral services will be held Friday in St. John American Lutheran church, with the Rev. Kenneth Rust officiating. Mrs. John Goldenstein will be organist. Pallbearers are nephews: John H. Eilers, Edes Eilers, John A. Eilers, Wayne Eilers, Carl Saathoff, Alfred Menninga. Burial will be in Sterling cemetery.
