Description	:	Minnie Isobel Armstrong, daughter of Jonathan and Hannah Horton, was born on the Horton homestead northeast of Fairmont, August 30, 1875. She passed away at her home in Fairmont, Neb., February 25, 1953, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was one of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. Read More	Minnie Isobel Armstrong, daughter of Jonathan and Hannah Horton, was born on the Horton homestead northeast of Fairmont, August 30, 1875. She passed away at her home in Fairmont, Neb., February 25, 1953, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was one of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. May 25, 1894, she was united in marriage to John Armstrong, who passed away in 1947. To this union five children were born; one son, Dorsey Armstrong of Auburn, Neb., four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Havel of Santa Monica, Cal., Mrs. Tessa Barger of Aloha, Ore., Mrs. Sylvia Newman of Fairmont, Mrs. Lucy Halverson of North Platte. Mrs. Armstrong was a shut-in for a number of years, but was always cheerful. Her home was a meeting place for friends and family reunions. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Those who remain to mourn her passing are five children, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, also several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kritner-Ashby Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Norman Smitheram. Oliver Moul sang two hymns, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Haven of Rest." He was accompanied at the piano by Mrs. A.P. Stewart. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
