JOHN UPDEGRAFF Mrs. Updegraff, of whose sickness mention in the paper, died of typhoid fever at her home in Ridge township, Wednesday, Oct 15. Her maiden name was Minnie Walter. She was the daughter of S.D. and Minnie Walter and was born at Benton Ridge in Hancock county, November 13, 1874. She was united in marriage to John Updegraff, October 31, 1893. To this union were born five children, of whom four are living. She was converted at the age of fourteen and united with the church of God at Grace Chapel near her home, under the labors of Rev. W. L. Cross. She was a faithful worker in the church and a loving and true wife and mother. Her funeral was held Oct 17 at St. Paul's United Evangelical church, Rev. A. C. Osborne of Wharton officiating, assisted by Revs William and Baumgardner of Carey. The sermon was from the text 1st Phil. 23rd to 28th.
