She was born on December 12, 1943 in Pilot Grove, IA to Joseph & Louise Mohrfeld Menke. She worked on the Graham-Jennings mink farm in the St. Paul area and later was the warehouse manager at Ortho in Fort Madison. She was born on December 12, 1943 in Pilot Grove, IA to Joseph & Louise Mohrfeld Menke. She worked on the Graham-Jennings mink farm in the St. Paul area and later was the warehouse manager at Ortho in Fort Madison. She retired from the Fort Madison Community Hospital after 15 years of service in the housekeeping department. She married Ralph Holtkamp on April 11, 1964 in St. Paul, IA. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1993. She then married Mike Tebbs on September 1, 2005 in Dallas, TX. She was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church in Fort Madison. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, flower gardening and cutting the grass. She was an avid collector of angel and bird figurines & primitive antiques and jewelry. She was a fan of Cardinal Baseball, NASCAR Races, Iowa Hawkeye Football and watching her grandchildren's athletic games. In her younger years, she was also an avid bowler. Cooking was a great joy for Miriam, she loved cooking for her family and for family weddings and social events. She was especially noted for her roast beef and cookies. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. Miriam is survived by: her husband: Mike Tebbs of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Christy (Chad) Schrader of Davenport, IA; 3-sons: Allan (Christina) Holtkamp of Montrose, IA, Bruce (Sue) Holtkamp of Columbia, MO & Bernard "Bernie" Holtkamp of West Point, IA; 2-step daughters: Danielle (Lance) Vaughn of Altoona, IA & Courtney Tebbs of Cedar Rapids, IA; 2-step sons: Brendan (Denise) Tebbs of Naperville, IL & Joshua Tebbs of Columbia, SC; 14-grandchildren: Navid (Rachel) Falahpour, Nema Falahpour, Kyle Holtkamp, Kacie Holtkamp, Caitlynn Holtkamp, Hadley Holtkamp, Grant Holtkamp, Garrett Holtkamp, Jake Schrader, Reece Schrader, Clinton Tebbs, Corinne Tebbs, Katherine Vaughn & Lauren Vaughn; 1-great granddaughter: Leila Sadie Falahpour; 2-brothers: Carl (Connie) Menke of Fort Madison, IA & Mark (Helen) Menke of Fort Madison, IA; 8-sisters: Vera Mixdorf-Evans of Waterloo, IA, Floreen Fuerman of West Point, IA, Delores (Sonny) Bohnenkamp of St. Charles, IL, Connie Conrad of Pilot Grove, IA, Betty (Marvin) Merschman of St. Paul, IA, Joanne Landers of Las Vegas, NV, Cathy (Larry) Holtkamp of Salem, IA & Mary Jo (Jim) Koller of Donnellson, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1st husband, 2-brothers & 2-sisters. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 with the family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison. Following the visitation, her body will be cremated. The Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for her grandchildrens' education.
