Description	:	Mrs. Mollie J. Arnold died at her home near Ozawkie about two o'clock p.m. Wednesday, her death resulting from poison taken with suicidal intent. Two girls and a boy between the aged of 10 and 18 constitute the family. About two o'clock Wednesday morning the children were awakened by their mother making an unusual noise. She told them she was sick, but would not consent that a doctor nor even any of the neighbors be summoned. Arnold died at her home near Ozawkie about two o'clock p.m. Wednesday, her death resulting from poison taken with suicidal intent. Two girls and a boy between the aged of 10 and 18 constitute the family. About two o'clock Wednesday morning the children were awakened by their mother making an unusual noise. She told them she was sick, but would not consent that a doctor nor even any of the neighbors be summoned. However the oldest child took the matter in her own hands and summoned the neighbors, and to one of these Mrs. Arnold acknowledged she had "taken something." Dr. Johnston was summoned arriving about five o'clock, found the patient unconscious. An empty morphine bottle led to the conclusion that morphine had been taken. An antidote was given and by ten o'clock she regained consciousness, but refused to take any medicine. When the Doctor left she appeared to be getting along all right, and had she taken only morphine she would have recovered, but about noon she was taken with convulsions and sinking spells and died as above stated. Mrs. Arnold was a daughter of James Nesbitt, of Ozawkie township; was first married to Riley Hawk who died about ten years ago. She was again married to Will Arnold who was killed by lightning about three years ago. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Degree of Honor and the Knights and Ladies of Security, carrying $1,000 insurance in the first and $3,000 in the last named. A letter was found in which she tells what she wishes done with her property and the children. She was buried in the cemetery at this place Thursday.
